The Kentucky Whitewater© Rescue Throw Bag fits the bill for of a diverse range of needs in the swiftwater environment.
River professionals and kayakers will never have to rely on the price vs. material cost in a throw-rope again. Rejoice! I only need 1 throwbag now to kayak this morning, raft guide an afternoon trip and help get a stuck raft off a big rock! Fire and Rescue personnel, State and Federal Park staff, local volunteers, and river professionals will all appreciate the features of this rescue throw rope at a cost their agencies will appreciate.
The flat envelope design allows it to easily fit in the stern of a small playboat or in the bungee cord bottle holder of kayaks. The shape also compliments the fit with inflatable boat flotation often found in canoes and kayaks. The bag is built from rugged marine Poly-cordura to withstand mildew and a mesh panel to drain and dry from. The quick connect buckle and drings on reflective webbing keeps the bag visible in all lights and allows it to be secured to attachment points, ready for use and noticeable.
60 Ft. of highly visible, Yellow 3/8 in. buoyant Sterling Waterline© Water Rescue Rope meets the NFPA 1983 Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services. Even though this bag is great for swift water, flood, and ice rescue applications, it also works well in paddler rescue with a rating around 3 times stronger than the rescue bars on modern roto-molded polyethylene kayaks. Regular poly-pro rope has only a third of the strength rating of Sterling Waterline that we use. Not all ropes float!
During testing our throw rope bag floated for 24 consecutive hours.
